The Inquest was suspended by The Rt Hon Baroness (Heather) Hallett DBE in accordance with paragraph 3 of Schedule 1 to the Coroners and Justice Act 2009, upon the establishment of the Inquiry.
Following the publication of the Inquiry report, the Chief Coroner HHJ Alexia Durran invited any representations as to whether the Inquest should be resumed. No interested person submitted that the Inquest should be resumed. On 23 March 2026, the Chief Coroner confirmed that in the absence of any submissions that there were sufficient reasons to resume the Inquest, she did not propose to do so.
